I am a tutor who excels at language. I am most passionate about working with students on language and their writing, but I also tutor reading, literature, American history, European history, geography, social studies, and more. I have over a decade of formal Spanish training and I spent a semester abroad in Sevilla, Spain while I was an undergraduate. I graduated from the College of William and Mary where I received my degree in Linguistics and History. I am now pursuing my Ph.D. in Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am currently researching the role that context plays in the understanding of language and the way that online interactions through social media change the dynamic of language. I have tutoring experience and my familiarity with the Spanish language and my skills as a writer make me an excellent fit for someone trying to improve their language or writing skills. When I'm not studying, conducting research, or tutoring, I enjoy playing sports and making music. I love basketball. I have been playing the jazz trumpet for a long time, and I am a member of a soul and rhythm and blues cover band where I rap and play the trumpet.
