Experience
I have a passion to help college and high school students to become critical thinkers and succinct writers. I possess over 20 years of proven success helping students with various study/organizational skills issues and processing problems. I find today that students have a difficult time summarizing information; recognizing and separating fact from opinion and have an even harder time a when it comes to general paper writing and exposition. I work with students on critical reading skills, editing of ideas and paper construction. I often find that students don't know how to think through a problem and then illustrate this process using the written word. I work one-one in various subject areas for weekly high school and college tutoring. I also have experience with college age and high school students (one which is my own son with sever dyslexia) struggling with a variety of special needs issues. I have taken a wide variety of courses in the social sciences, literature, art and government: archeology; anthropology; sociology; art history; modern art history; South Asian Art; Ottoman studies; historical sociology European, World, South Asian, Middle Eastern, South American and North American history. I have a special place for ethnic studies--history of the Jewish people; Mongolian history and social history/working class history. I passed AP exams in European and American history and have a specialty in Roman history; medieval and early modern European history and thought. I also have spent years in political economy, political science, world government and civics.
