I currently work as a teacher in the New York City area. I work to help all of my students obtain his or her best performance level. I have an undergraduate degree from Spelman College. I continued my education and now have a master's degree in Adolescent Education. While pursuing my own higher education, I worked as a tutor. I worked with students off all ages, from elementary level to college age, and also focused on a wide range of subject matter. This includes mathematics, biology, and English studies. I love working with all students, but I really enjoyed working elementary and middle school level science, mathematics, and English. Each subject is so diverse, so I feel it's easier for my students to connect to the content that is being taught. When working with students, I question them along the way. This helps me better see their progress and make sure that they're continuing to understand the material. I tailor my teaching to each student's unique learning style. I also try to connect the material being taught to the student, so that they become more interested. When I'm not in the classroom or individually tutoring students, you can catch me coaching basketball. I also like to take part in student events and field trips.
