Private tutor in Yonkers, NY
University of Colorado - B.A. Summa cum laude, Economics , Stanford University - MBA, Business
I graduated with honors from the University of Colorado earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Following graduation, I went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School. Prior to attending graduate school, I scored in the upper two percent on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Professionally, I worked as a Wall Street research executive. After retiring, I began my teaching career. Since that time, I have tutored or taught over two hundred students in the Westchester school district both in the classroom and privately. My fields of expertise include business math, pre-calculus, trigonometry, physics, algebra, and statistics. I also tutor graduate level finance and marketing, along with preparation for the SAT, SSAT, ISEE, ACT, and GMAT exams. After working with me, students average between a 275 to 300 point improvement. My pupils find me an enthusiastic, patient, and highly energized instructor who brings a vast amount of subject knowledge. Initially, I spend time getting to know the needs and abilities of my client so I can create the ideal strategy that builds on their skills. I make use of tests and constructive feedback to make sure they are learning the concepts. I strive to build a good rapport so I can motivate them to do their best. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy an eclectic group of interests. These include chess, scuba diving, photography, and skiing.
