I firmly believe that every person that wants to can learn. I also know that each of us learns in different ways. I plan lessons to cater to each person's individual needs. When we set goals and really want to and are ready to tackle them, we will achieve them. A typical hour-long tutoring session is well-structured. I focus on motivating pupils while pointing out their strengths and encouraging them to use them to tackle their weaknesses. During the final five minutes of our meeting, I encourage journal writing. During this time, I ask students to set goals and ideas, or even talk about the new things they have just learned. My reason behind this is that later down the road, the pupil can look back and see how much they have gotten done and how far they have come. I am able to help with subjects such as math and English of multiple levels. When I am not tutoring, I love to exercise, read, and try new restaurants.
