I'm semi-retired, from the tech industry, and have been tutoring second graders through college students, for fee and free (community service), since 2009. I've worked with students from all walks of life as well as those with mild special needs and learning disabilities. I'm trained and experienced in SAT/ACT test prep and NYS High School Regents / Common Core Math. I began tutoring SAT Test Prep as a volunteer with New York Cares in 2009 working with underperforming, inner-city students. After receiving training as a Kaplan tutor, I led my Bronx SAT test prep team to significant test score improvement. I also tutored more affluent students with Bespoke Education and began private tutoring through word-of-mouth referrals. I continued my volunteer tutoring at Mount Vernon and Hartsdale High Schools where I provided SAT and twice weekly early morning math tutoring for athletes with the Destination College program. I have tutored students in the following NY metro area communities: the Bronx, Riverdale, Scarsdale, Mount Vernon, Croton, Alpine, Hartsdale, Tenafly, Yonkers, Briarcliff Manor and Teaneck. (What seems like) many years ago, I earned a BSc from NYU in Economics and an MBA from Columbia Business School and after that I worked in the aerospace and software industries, mostly on the marketing side, but with some exposure to technology and finance.
